Primary Daily Schedule
8:30 – 9:00 a.m.
Arrival – As children say goodbye to their parents and enter the classroom, they are greeted by one of our teachers. We support them in stowing their belongings and each child is invited to start the day either with a teacher or by independently choosing an activity. Once most of our children have arrived we come together for group prayer in the classroom or with Fr. Rob in the sanctuary.

8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
The first three hours of the day make up our ‘morning work cycle.’ Children work both independently and in small groups. Full group meetings can also happen, especially to celebrate birthdays, to share Bible stories, or to enjoy language and movement games. Snack is available during this time and, weather permitting, the outdoor space is used as an extension of the classroom.
12:45 p.m.
Children who nap are invited to use the bathroom and settle in to our quiet nap area. Children are welcome to choose reading activities and listen to soothing music as they transition to nap, then enjoy a restful nap period.

12:45 – 2:45 p.m.
Afternoon work cycle – Children who do not nap are invited to resume independent use of materials. Lesson-giving resumes and lessons may be given to children independently or in small groups.

2:50 p.m.
Children picked up at 3:00 p.m. prepare to go home.
3:00 p.m.
Children on a Full Day schedule are picked up. A teacher will be available to help parents sign their children out and make contact with parents about their child’s day.

3:15 p.m.
A light afternoon snack is served.

9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Morning snack – Children rotate through the snack table, according to their availability and interest. Children are given the means and know-how to serve and to clean up after themselves.
11:30 – 12:00 p.m.
Outdoor time. Although our outdoor environment is also used throughout the day as an extension of the classroom, we also schedule specific outdoor time each day to ensure our children have that crucial opportunity to explore, discover and enjoy our beautiful natural world.

12:00 – 12:45 p.m.
Lunch – Children bring healthy lunches from home, and are invited to sit with friends to enjoy this social mealtime. Children scheduled for Half Day are picked up at this time.
3:30 – 4:45 p.m.
Outside play and/or indoor activities, dependent upon weather and interest.
4:45 – 5:15 p.m.
Children and adults work together to prepare the classroom for a new day. Children then prepare to depart by 5:15 p.m. School closes at 5:15 p.m.
