Scholarship Opportunities
Parents may apply for scholarship funds with Best Beginnings and with Student Scholarship Organizations to help cover the cost of tuition at MCMS. We also offer an in-house scholarship to provide temporary financial assistance to currently enrolled families who are unable to meet their tuition obligation to the school for that month, and who would otherwise be forced to leave our community or decrease the days of attendance for their child(ren). Please read below, for further information on each of these three scholarship programs:

Student Scholarshop Organizations

Parents in Montana are able to apply for scholarship funds from MT Student Scholarship Organizations (SSO), which each have varying eligibility criteria and application processes. Parents who apply and are awarded scholarship funds for their child(ren), then direct the SSO to pay the funds to the private Montana school of their choice.

To apply, parents must apply directly with SSOs. Parents may apply to any, and as many, SSOs of their choice. The contact and application information listed below is updated when information becomes available from each SSO for the current year. We encourage you to contact SSO's directly if current information is not yet listed.

Scholarships from this student scholarship organization may be used at any qualified education provider of the parent's or legal guardian's choice.

MCMS Student Scholarship Orgnization
As of September 2024, MCMS is recognized as an SSO by the Montana Department of Revenue, and in January 2026 earned $2,000.00 in tax credits. We will begin accepting applications for children entering K through Grade 12 on a rolling basis beginning at 8 am on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship Program
The Early Childhood Services Bureau (ECSB) offers Best Beginnings child care scholarships (BBCCS) to qualified low-income families whose child receives care from a licensed child care center, licensed group or family child care home, or Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) child care provider. Each family participates in the cost of that care by making a copayment based on a sliding fee scale. Scholarships are available to working families whose income is at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and families who get cash assistance through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. St. Nicholas Scholarship
St. Nicholas was a Christian bishop in the 4th century who was famed for his generosity and love of children. Stories of his giving to those in need abound around the globe. His gift-giving was so renowned, a popular figure you may know was developed based on his character – Santa Claus!

Here at MCMS we honor his memory with our St. Nicholas Scholarship. The purpose of the St. Nicholas Scholarship is to provide temporary financial assistance to currently enrolled families who are unable to meet their tuition obligation to the school, and who would otherwise be forced to leave our community or decrease the days of attendance for their child(ren). This application is for a single month of partial or full financial support from the St. Nicholas Scholarship Fund. If your family requires more than one month of assistance, please reapply each month. Only families who have been with our community for a minimum of 3 months and have a currently enrolled child will be considered for this scholarship. There is a 3 month limit on financial awards per year, per family. Awards typically cover 50% of monthly tuition but may vary based on funding available and number of eligible applicants. All information contained in this application is considered strictly confidential. This is an equal opportunity scholarship. Awards are given at the discretion of Missoula Christian Montessori School.
